Pakistan Super League’s sixth team is all ready to welcome its new owners on December 18th. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the bidding procedure for all the interested bidders. Required documents are to be collected from PCB headquarters in Lahore till December 14th. The last date for submission is December 18th till 11 am. Technical and financial proposals shall be submitted in two different envelopes at PCB headquarters before the deadline.
The new owners will be decided the same day after going through the proposals. Those who meet the requirements will be brought under consideration in the financial bids. Furthermore, any query can be discussed with the manager legal affairs of PCB barrister Salman Naseer.
According to PCB, 16 bidders have shown interest in buying the sixth team. Pakistan Tehreeke Insaaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen’s son Ali Tareen is also interested in buying the new team for which he also met PCB officials. If he buys the team, chances are bright that he will go with the same name as the team. Other than him, a renowned industrialist from Karachi also met PCB chairman Ehsan Mani and showed his interest in buying the sixth team. The ex-owners might also buy the team. The new owners can change the name of the team.
Last year the sixth team formerly known as Multan Sultans was sold for $5.2m but this time a decrease in amount is expected as the dollar is constantly increasing. PCB last month terminated the ownership of Multan Sultans when they failed to fulfill financial obligations in the due time. PCB by themselves took part in players draft for the sixth team along with the same staff.
Pakistan Super League (PSL) will kick off from February 14th in Dubai.
