The fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) is starting in less than three months, from February 14th 2019 in Dubai. The teams after their retentions, also announced ambassadors for upcoming season. Unlike from the previous seasons, this time, teams have made their star players their ambassadors.
Previous seasons have seen celebrities joining the teams as ambassadors. In this way, people who are not crazy about the game also support the game because of their favourite celebrity. So far only players from teams are made ambassadors, we might see celebrities joining the teams as a publicity stunt.
Last season’s champion side Islamabad United, made their 22 year old batting sensation Hussain Talat ambassador of the side.
Peshawar Zalmi‘s ambassador for PSL 2019 is their wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal. He has been Zalmi’s highest run scorer and also made a century for Zalmi last season.
Karachi Kings have made South African batsman Colin Ingram their ambassador for PSL 2019. Ingram came to Pakistan for Eliminator and also played an important part in King’s victories.
Quetta Gladiators also made their foreign player their ambassador. South African cricketer Rilee Rossouw is their ambassador. He was among the Gladiators who came to play Eliminator in Pakistan last season.
The Sixth Team decided to go with the 7 ft 1 in tall Mohammad Irfan. He is the team’s ambassador for PSL 2019.
Lahore Qalandars made their one of the most sublime find, 18 year old Shaheen Shah Afridi their ambassador for the upcoming edition. Shaheen is said to be the most promising bowling sensation.
